Bellamy ignores Anfield rumours, for now

9 julio 2012 14:04

Liverpool 's Craig Bellamy said he is focused on helping Team GB at the Olympic Games, as speculation over an Anfield exit mounts.

The Welshman was handed one of the three allocated over-23 slots for the tournament, alongside compatriots Aaron Ramsey, Joe Allen, Neil Taylor and captain Ryan Giggs, as the team gear up for their first fixture against Senegal on July 26.

However, back in Liverpool, Bellamy's future continues to be the subject of debate with both QPR and former club Cardiff City reportedly interested in the 32-year-old’s services.

The striker told the Liverpool Echo: "I've not said anything about my future and I'm not going to.

"I play for Liverpool and Wales and I'm representing Great Britain at the Olympics – and that is it.

"But as long as I’m fit I’ll be playing football no matter what."

New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has ruled out any transfer for Bellamy, insisting the former Manchester City man was part of his plans ahead of the 2012-13 Premier League season.

But, Bellamy is choosing to focus on the task at hand, aiming to help Team GB achieve their objectives in London, rather than speculate over his future.
