Espanyol striker Raul Tamudo

Striker Raul Tamudo’s agent has expressed the player’s interest to move to Roma since his association with Espanyol appears to have come to an abrupt end after a public spat with the club.

The striker, who bagged 129 goals in 334 Primera Liga appearances for Espanyol, is quite certain about leaving the club and believes Italy would be a good destination to continue his football future.

"No club has contacted me to ask about Raul, but Roma would be a destination that we would like," says agent Tomas Duran to the Italian media.

Before making any further contacts with any club, the Spanish attacker wants to sort the present situation with Espanyol.

"It is too early to talk about names, but it is clear that Raul would love to play in Italy.

"Tomorrow we have a meeting with Espanyol and we'll see what happens," concludes the agent.

This might not be a bad move for Tamudo. If his relationship with Espanol has gone sour, a club like Roma could be a decent fit. Totti has had injury problems for the last couple of seasons, and Roma are without a decent second option at the position. Vucinic is a good player, but he plays higher up the pitch than Totti. Tamudo could give the squad a bit of depth IMO. Sign him to a 2 year deal, and he could be an adequate "bridge" player, until new talent can be brought in.
