By winning their final match of the season against rivals Young Boys Berne FC Basel took the Swiss League and Cup double.

This was their first title in three seasons and their twelfth overall.

Teenager Valentin Stocker opened the scoring in the thirteenth minute and provided the ball to Marco Streller ten minutes later to seal the match and the title.

Coach Christian Gross has now won four titles and four Cups with FC Basel, two titles and one Cup with Grasshoppers Zurich thereby making him the top coach in Switzerland.

Gross has also coached at Tottenham Hotspur.
