HONG KONG (AFP) - David Beckham shrugged off fresh injury fears on Sunday after a clumsy challenge which looked to have dented his England recall bid.

The LA Galaxy star was upended by South China invitational's Li Haiqiang late in Sunday's friendly here and was limping slightly afterwards.

However Beckham, who suffered a minor thigh injury during Galaxy's previous tour match in Shanghai, said he was "just a little bit bruised."

"I'm not injured," he said. "I took another knock on my thigh that I got kicked on before but it's not a problem.

"I took the penalty straight after. It's just a little bit bruised."

Beckham slotted the last-gasp spot-kick to take the friendly match into penalties, which Galaxy eventually lost 5-4.

The 32-year-old is gunning for an England recall this month and hopes to win his 100th cap in the March 26 friendly against France.

However he insisted that he was focusing on Major League Soccer rather than a return to international football.

"At the moment I'm just concentrating on playing with Galaxy," he said.

"I'm concentrating on training with Galaxy and getting fit for Galaxy. We will just have to see what else happens."
