CLAIREFONTAINE, France (AFP) - France captain Patrick Vieira was ruled out on Monday from Wednesday's friendly with England at the Stade de France.

The Inter Milan midfielder is suffering from a left leg injury which has plagued him for the past week.

"I am frustrated," admitted Vieira.

"I hope to be able to play next weekend for Inter, as it (the injury) is getting much better, but not to be playing on Wednesday is extremely disappointing."

Raymond Domenech's squad has been hit by a plethora of injuries. Earlier on Monday Barcelona star Thierry Henry was also ruled out with what was later revealed to be a lower back injury and last night rising Lyon star Karim Benzema pulled out after twisting his left knee in a league game.
