Gençlerbirligi SK made Galatasaray AS suffer in the absence of flu-ridden coach Karl-Heinz Feldkamp, claiming a 1-0 advantage from the teams' Turkish Cup semi-final first leg.

Burhan Eºer scored a 71st-minute winner for the hosts against a Galatasaray side shorn both of their sick coach and of a number of senior players. Kayserispor were 3-0 victors at Rizespor in the other semi-final, with Leonardo Iglesias, Franco Cangele and Delio Toledo on target. The ties will be decided on 16 April.
