ROME (AFP) - Italy coach Roberto Donadoni faces an uncertain future following Euro 2008 in June as he has not had his contract renewed, Ansa said on Thursday.

The Italian Federation (FIGC) said it will talk with Donadoni about a new contract in July, giving them the option of letting him go should the team under-perform at the finals in Austria and Switzerland.

"The commitment and desire to pursue the highest Euro objectives together, as has been the tradition and prestige in Italy, forms the basis of the relationship between FIGC and the national team coach Donadoni," said a statement from the federation.

It has been widely speculated in Italy that Donadoni's mandate will end after the tournament when current AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti could take over the national team reigns.
