Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor refused to talk up his side's chances of winning the UEFA Cup despite reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in the club's history.
Walter Smith's team had to deal with plenty of nervy moments as they defended a 2-0 first-leg lead at the Weserstadion as Werder Bremen emerged 1-0 winners, only failing to force extra-time due to McGregor's heroics. Brazilian playmaker Diego scored the only goal of the game after 58 minutes but the Scottish international keeper stood firm under a barrage of late pressure, making several impressive saves.
