LISBON (AFP) - Juventus's Portugal international defender Jorge Andrade is almost certain to miss Euro 2008 after underoing surgery for a recurring left knee injury on Thursday, the Portuguese media reported.

The 29-year-old has not fully recovered despite already undergoing surgery in France after suffering seriously torn ligaments in his left knee last September.

Andrade missed the final phase of the 2006 World Cup because of another operation on his kneecap.

He is expected to leave hospital this weekend and will recuperate in Portugal, the Lusa news agency reported. No date has been given for his return to competition.
