SOFIA (AFP) - Levski Sofia striker Valeri Domovchiyski was at Hertha Berlin for a trial and medical checks Monday with a view to signing a contract with the Bundesliga side, his team announced.

"The two teams are expected to finalise talks on the transfer by the end of the transfer window" on January 31, Levski's official website www.levski.bg reported.

Levski head coach Stanimir Stoilov announced earlier Monday that Domovchiyski would not travel with the team for their second training trip to Cyprus and his transfer would be finalised by the end of the day Monday.

The 21-year-old striker, who has already scored 55 goals in 122 appearances for his club, was on the verge of signing a deal with English Premier League side Blackburn Rovers earlier this month.
