VALENCIA (SW) - Fenerbahçe coach Luis Aragones has become the center of attention of a possible row, as Spanish side Valencia CF asked the manager to leave the Turkish side to join them instead.

Aragones only recently signed a two-year deal with Fenerbahçe in Istanbul, after leading the Spanish national team to the European trophy in June.

But Juan Villalonga, who last week took charge of Valencia, now asks the coach to leave Turkey immediately in order to come and work at Mestalla.

Valencia's current manager, Unai Emery, knows that he might have to leave if a bigger name comes up - despite only having joined the club a few weeks ago himself.

Spanish sports paper Marca reports that a clause in Aragones' contract allows the 69-year-old to terminate the cooperation without further consequences.

Villalonga, a former Telefonica manager, plans to offer star players David Villa and David Silva higher salaries to tie them to the club a few more years, and has set his sights on Barcelona's Xavi and Real Madrid's Ruben de la Red.
