Gretna FC's slight Scottish Premier League survival hopes have taken a heavy blow after striker Kenny Deuchar agreed a deal to join Major League Soccer side Real Salt Lake.
The 27-year-old, a practising doctor, sealed the move after scoring both Gretna goals in Sunday's 4-2 loss at Rangers FC – when watched by Real Salt Lake's general manager. Deuchar netted six goals in ten games for Gretna this term, in addition to a loan spell at Saint Johnstone FC. He flies to Buenos Aires to link up with his new team, leaving Gretna bottom of the SPL, 12 points off safety.
