It was announced here on Friday that Brazilian defender Alex has completed his move from PSV Eindhoven to Chelsea.

He completed his medical thus giving him the green light to join the London club.

The week long wait for a work permit delayed the move for a few days.

Alex, who is now twenty five years old, began his career in Brazil with Santos and helped PSV win three successive Dutch league titles.

He played in the Brazilian side that won the Copa America with victory over Argentina in the final in Venezuela on July 15.
