BUENOS AIRES (AFP) - Villarreal´s Argentine international midfielder Juan Roman Riquelme has agreed a move back to Boca Juniors on a loan deal from next June, Boca Juniors president Mauricio Macri said.

Riquelme, 28, has fallen out of favour with Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini and club president Fernando Roig, and has made it known that he wants a change before the end of the season.

"I congratulate myself on having sealed the return of Riquelme to the club," said Macri.

Villarreal officials insisted "nothing is official for the moment".

Riquelme played for Boca from 1996 to 2002 before joining Barcelona for a season. He arrived at Villarreal in 2003.
