HELSINKI, Sep 17 (SW) - A late Greta Mjoll Samuelsdottir goal brought Icelandic champions Breidablik passed the physically strong and organised team of Belarus' Universitet Vitebsk.

Breidablik came second in group B1 thanks to the win and will progress to the quarter finals, together with last years UEFA Women's Cup champion FFC Frankfurt. The strong squad of Universitet Vitebsk kept HJK on 0-0 earlier this week, and started pretty even with Breidablik. It was a game with little changes and much midfield play.

Goalkeeper Thora Helgadottir talked to Soccerway and stated that the bad first half was a result of a very tough week, in which Breidablik played the Icelandic Cup Final and two UEFA Women’s Cup games. In the second half, Breidablik was the better team, but it wasn’t until the 88th minute that the Icelandic women scored. A pass from the leftside ended at the feet of Greta Mjoll Samuelsdottir, who shot the ball past the Belarussian goalkeeper's right in a one on one encounter.

HJK, that had a small change of going through would Breidablike lose, lost their game against UEFA Cup holders FFC Frankfurt with 0-2. It started surprisingly equal, with both teams getting chances. But after the twentieth minute Frankfurt took control of the game. After hitting the post earlier, a shot from Judith Affeld from five metres went passed HJK-keeper Noora Matikainen. But if it wasn’t for Matikainen there would have been more goals before half time, some good saves of her made it end in 0-1 before the tea. There was even a chance for 1-1 in the 45th minute when Sanna Talonen came alone in front of Frankfurt keeper Silke Rottenberg. But the star keeper of the German national team came a fraction earlier.

The second half FFC Frankfurt lowered their tempo, but still powerless HJK could not make a fist. In the 54th minute Kerstin Garefrekes dribbled past three defenders and Matikainen to make it 0-2.
