Brescia want Baggio return
BRESCIA, Oct 13 (SW) – Serie B Brescia are ready to make an incredible attempt to try and lure Italian golden boy Roberto Baggio out of retirement.
The soon to be 40-year-old has been out of the game since 2004, and is believed to be happy in retirement. Previously, Baggio has indicated that he would be willing to return to the football world in some sort of coaching role.
Brescia manager Mario Somma has expressed his desire to see Baggio wear the shirt of Brescia again, even if the move is likely to be a non starter.
“We can’t sign someone like Luca Toni, who is tied to Fiorentina, but we could certainly have a go at Baggio,” he declared.
“If things go in a certain direction for us this season, then why couldn't we convince Baggio to again wear the Brescia shirt?
"I made a vow never to play a trequartista behind the strikers, but I'd make an exception for Baggio.
“Football is about emotion and to bring Baggio back to the club would create a great wave of emotion amongst our fans."
