HELSINKI, Oct 4 (SW) – MyPa Myllykoski have clinched the Finnish domestic title for the first time in the club's history, following their 3-0 win over Tampere United last night.

With HJK Helsinki breathing down their necks, MyPa were eager to seal a convincing win over Tampere United and put an end to the title race, with still two fixtures to be played.

And they did just that on the night, with the help of Tero Taipale who broke the deadlock in the 24th minute. Adriano doubled his side’s advantage minutes before the interval, and Tuomas Haapala completed the 3-0 victory 40 minutes from time.

Behind MyPa, HJK and Tampere United look now set to battle for the runners-up spot, while defending champions Haka follow on 4th place, 9 points behind the newly-crowned champions.
