POTSDAM, Dec 18 (SW) – Turbine have managed to keep the Frauen Bundesliga number one spot for two months. With the winter pause coming the women from Potsdam won their game against struggling FFC Heike Rheine.
The game between Turbine and FFC Heike was earlier postponed on matchday five. In the first twenty minutes Rheine did play rather good, but they had no big chances. Rheines goalkeeper Frederike Bittner could save two shots, one by Isabell Kerschowski after six minutes and one of Anja Mittag on eighteen minutes. But around the twenty minutes mark Kerschowski scored the opening goal on a cross of Mittag. The 17-year-old Kerschowski played an outstanding match, after the 1-0 she had again two shooting changes. But it was Navina Omilade, who made it 2-0 before the break even though the ball looked also touched by a FFC Heike player. Short before the break Conny Pohlers had the chance for 3-0, but Bittner could save the ball again. In the second half four more goals followed. Only 423 spectators (cold and snowy weather conditions) saw the first one in the 49th minute shot by Jennifer Zietz out of 16 meters. Some seconds before it a shot by the same Zietz was cleared by Bittner. Than Conny Pohlers became active, first she failed to score in the 52nd and then she made 4-0 from a shot on 58th. Ten minutes later she shot over the crossbar. The 5-0 was scored by Aferdita Podvorica, ten minutes from time. Finally FFC Heike Rheine could make their one and only goal with their first real chance. It was Ines Reinicke who scored the 5-1 after a pass of Dutch International Dyanne Bito. It was again a non-surprising and clear victory for Turbine in the German Bundesliga. The next league match will then be on 19th of February. Turbine Potsdam – FFC Heike Rheine 5-1 (2-0) Referee: Christiane Schönfeld, Attendance: 423 Goals: 21. Isabel Kerschowski 1-0, 38. Navina Omilade 2-0, 49. Jennifer Zietz 3-0, 58. Conny Pohlers 4-0, 80. Aferdita Podvorica 5-0, 82. Ines Reinicke 5-1 |
